MESSAGE OF WORLD-WIDE IMPORTANCE

Devotion to the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary This Message was confided by Our Lord to Berthe Petit, a humble Franciscan Tertiary, born on January 23, 1870, at Enghien, Belgium:

"Teach souls to love the Heart of My Mother pierced by the very sorrows which pierced Mine." (December 25, 1909)

At the Holy Hour (March 25, 1912) the Blessed Virgin spoke thus: "I have called myself the Immaculate Conception. To you I call myself Mother of the Sorrowful Heart. This title willed by my Son is dear to me above all others. According as it is spread everywhere, there will be granted graces of mercy, spiritual renewal and salvation."

PRAYER
(Composed by Berthe Petit)

Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, dwelling pure and holy, cover my soul with your maternal protection so that being ever faithful to the voice of Jesus, it responds to His love and obeys His Divine Will.

I wish, 0, my Mother, to keep unceasingly before me your co-redemption in order to live intimately with your Heart that is totally united to the Heart of your Divine Son.

Fasten me to this Heart by your own virtues and sorrows. Protect me always.

The Prayer or Blessing Against Storms
is of great importance

Jesus Christ a King of Glory has come in Peace. † God became man, † and the Word was made flesh, † Christ was born of a Virgin. † Christ suffered. † Christ was crucified. † Christ died. † Christ rose from the dead. † Christ ascended into Heaven.  †Christ conquers. † Christ reigns. † Christ orders. † May Christ protect us from all storms and lightning † Christ went through their midst in Peace, † and the word was made flesh, † Christ is with us with Mary, † Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Judah, the Root David, has won,  †HolyGod, † Holy Powerful God,†  Holy Immortal God,† Have mercy on us. Amen!

Above, in Millet's famous painting, a peasant boy and girl in France recite the Angelus at dark. "The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary . . . " It is one of the most famous paintings in the world. 6-12-6

THE ANGELUS

V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary.
R. And she conceived of the Holy Ghost. ("Hail Mary" Prayer)

V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done unto me according to thy word. ("Hail Mary" Prayer)

V. And the word was made flesh.
R. And dwelt among us {Hail Mary)

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray: Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts, that we to whom the Incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His passion and cross be brought to the glory of His resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

"Jesus, Mary, I love You, Save Souls. "

PRAYER TO ST. MICHAEL

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of Battle; Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke Him, we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into Hell, Satan and all the other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking the ruin of souls. Amen

(This powerful prayer of exorcism was composed by Pope Leo XIII; in a vision, he had been shown the fearful battle to be waged between Satan and St. Michael, over the Church of the future. Now, as never before, the Church needs the intercession of St. Michael! Please say this prayer every day.)

MARY, QUEEN OF THE HOLY ANGELS
- PRAY FOR US!

"Jesus, Mary, I love You, Save Souls. "

Sincere Act of Contrition

CHAPLET of ST. MICHAEL

Saint Michael appearing one day to Antonia d' Astonac, a most devout Servant of God, told her that he wished to be honored by nine salutations corresponding to the nine Choirs of Angels, which should consist of one Our Father and three Hail Mary's in honor of each of the angelic choirs.

Promises of St. Michael

Whosoever would practice this devotion in his honor would have, when approaching the Holy Table, an escort of nine angels chosen from each one of the nine choirs. In addition, for the daily recital of these nine salutations he promised his continual assistance and that of all the holy angels during life, and after death deliverance from purgatory for themselves and their relations.

Method of Reciting the Chaplet

The chaplet is begun by saying the following invocation on the medal:
O God, come to my assistance.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father, etc.

Following the arrow on the diagram 1-9, say one Our Father and three Hail Mary's after each of the following nine salutations in honor of the nine choirs of angels.

1. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Seraphim, may the Lord make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect charity. Amen..

2. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim, may the Lord vouchsafe to grant us grace to leave the ways of wickedness to run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.

3. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones, may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen.

4. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominions, may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and subdue our unruly passions. Amen.

5. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers, may the Lord vouchsafe to protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Amen.

6. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord preserve us from evil and suffer us not to fall into temptation. Amen.

7. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities, may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience. Amen.

8. By the intercession of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels, may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works, in order that we gain the glory of Paradise. Amen.

9. By the intercessio0n of St. Michael and the celestial Choir of Angels, may the Lord grant us to be protected by them in this mortal life and conducted hereafter to eternal glory. Amen.

Following the arrow on the diagram, 10-13, say one Our Father in honor of each of the following leading angels: 10 St. Michael; 11 St. Gabriel; 12 St. Raphael; 13 our Guardian Angel.

The chaplet is concluded with the following prayers: O glorious Prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King, and our admirable conductor; thou who dost shine with excellence and superhuman virtue, vouch safe to deliver us from all evil, who turn to thee with confidence, and enable us by thy gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

V. Pray for us, O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the Church of Jesus Christ.
R. That we may be made worthy of His promises.

PRAYER

Almighty and Everlasting God, who by a prodigy of goodness and merciful desire for the salvation of all men, hast appointed the most glorious Archangel, St. Michael, Prince of Thy Church, make us worthy, we beseech Thee, to be delivered from all our enemies that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into the august presence of Thy Divine Majesty. This we beg through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (With Ecclesiastical Approval)

SALVE REGINA
Hail, Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.

It may be prayed standing — or arms extended — or sung.

"An Indulgence of 5 years."
