Official Secrets of La Salette
Re-Discovered in Vatican Beyond the polemic, the truth on the
appearance and its indicators
Our Lady appeared to two shepherd children, Melanie and Maximin,
at La Salette in France in 1846, bringing the Gospel message of
“good news” concerning repentance and conversion. The La Salette
apparition was officially approved by the Church in 1851. As part of
this apparition, Our Lady gave a secret to each of the two children
visionaries. There has been much controversy on the secrets, ranging
from claims that they were on the Vatican Index of Forbidden
Publications (a list which has since been abrogated) to claims that
the Secret is not part of the apparition. The main reason for these
problems is that the secrets which have been published in various
forms, starting back in the late 1800's, highlight very serious
problems in the world, in the Church, and especially in the clergy
and religious institutions. They are extremely “politically
incorrect” in the parlance of today. To solve this mystery, Fr.
Michel Corteville was able to research the newly opened (in the
recent past of the year 2000) Vatican archives for the period of
Pope Leo XIII. He has written, along with Fr. René Laurentin, a book
titled “Découverte du Secret de La Salette,” published by Librairie
Arthème Fayard in 2002. This book has the Nihil Obstat frpm Abbaye
Notre-Dame de Tournay, 13 February 2002, Dom Bernard Billet. The
Imprimatur is from Èvry, le jour Pâques 2002, Mgr. Michel Dubost.
This book is only in French at present, and no known English
translation exists. The book is 263 pages long. The secrets found in
the Vatican archive are detailed in Chapter IV. This document
contains the secrets themselves, along with some of the clerical
commentary of those times, from the same Vatican archives, as well
as some commentary by Fathers Corteville and Laurentin. Since the
author of this article is not fluent in French, and the translation
was done using computer software, both the original French and
translated English are included, in a two column format. In
addition, the page number of the book is also shown. No personal
commentary is included on the secrets at this time – that will be
offered in the future. However, the secrets speak for themselves,
and match well with those of Fatima, Akita and elsewhere. The
English grammar may be rough because of computer translation, but
the meaning is understandable and extra care was taken not to impose
erroneous interpretations on the translations.
Once you read these secrets, it will be quite obvious as to how
they apply today, especially after the priestly abuse scandal
exposed in 2002 in the United States, and all the dissent rampant in
the Church today, especially that of religious and clergy, including
those in high places, and the general loss of faith – a general
apostasy. They are quite eye-opening and apocalyptic.
May Our Lady of La Salette, Reconciliatrix, help us all to return
to her Divine Son! Repent and believe in the Gospel.
