To the Five Wounds of Our Saviour

Permit me, 0 Divine Jesus! to adore the wounds of Thy Hands and Feet, and may Thy precious Blood in flowing from them, cleanse my soul and communicate to it that holiness which Thou demandest of me. Allow me, 0 descending Saviour! to consider the gaping wound of Thy sacred Side as the gate of my salvation. Thy loving Heart pierced by a cruel lance, is ever open to me; I shall, therefore, penetrate into this sanctuary of Divine love and dwell therein all the days of my life, so that I may be united with Thee during all eternity.

Sacred wounds of my Redeemer, unmistakable pledges of the infinite love of God, you cry to heaven for mercy, and are as so many pure fountains in which I may lave the stains that gully my soul.

To the Wound in the Shoulder
0 most loving Jesus, meek Lamb of God, I, a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most sacred wound of Thy Shoulder where thou didst bear Thy heavy cross; which so tore Thy flesh, and laid bare Thy bones, as to inflict on Thee an anguish greater than any other wound of Thy most blessed Body. I adore Thee, 0 Jesus most sorrowful; I praise Thee, I bless and glorify Thee, and give Thee thanks for this most sacred and most painful Wound; beseeching Thee, by that exceeding pain, and by the crushing burden of Thy heavy cross, to be merciful to me a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and all my venial sins, and to lead me on towards heaven along the way of Thy cross. Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most precious blood of Jesus Christ, in expiation of my sins, for ftp. wants of the Church, for the conversion of signers, and for the suffering souls in purgatory.

The Motive
You have entered religion to become a new creature, and to be transformed into another Christ crucified. Let the cross and humiliations of Jesus, then, be your incentive. You are elected to be the spouse of Christ crucified, to follow Him in poverty, chastity and obedience, and, if He wills, in suffering, nay, even to death, and this is why the motive held out to you is the cross of Christ. There is none more powerful to offer.

Is any cross too heavy, Or any task too hard That Jesus lays upon thee, And Jesus will reward?

To Jesus Crucified
Sweet Jesus, mayest Thou be ever crucified in my heart by nails of love, Who for love of me was crucified with nails of iron on the hard wood of the cross.

I will draw near to my suffering Saviour; I will be sorrowful with my sorrowful Jesus, broken hearted with my broken hearted Jesus, and I will even try to console Him, by promising in future to love Him more ardently, and to imitate Him more closely. Amen.

To Commemorate the Holy Passion
I desire in these holy mysteries to commemorate, as Thou hast commanded, all Thy sufferings; Thy agony and bloody sweat; Thy being betrayed and apprehended, all the reproaches and calumnies, all the scoffs and affronts, all the blows and buffets Thou hast endured for me; Thy being , scourged, crowned with thorns, and loaded with a heavy cross, for my sins, and for those of the whole world; Thy Crucifixion and Death. I adore Thee, and give Thee thanks for all that Thou hast done and suffered for us; and for giving us, in He most Blessed Sacrament, this pledge of our Redemption, this Victim of our ransom, this Body and Blood which was offered for us.

For Souls
Indulgenced
0 my God, I beg of Thee in union with the Immulacate Heart of Mary, through the merits of the Precious Blood offered Thee in every Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world, to grant fliat this day one mortal sin may be averted. One soul in doubt may be converted to the truth, one soul about to die in sin may receive the grace of repentance and a happy death, and the deliverance of that soul in Purgatory, which is nearest to heaven. I wish by this offering, to console the Heart of Jesus in Agony for the souls lost thorough the teaching of error against the true Church of Christ Jesus Our Lord. Amen.
